Availability and Booking
Five king master bedrooms with private en suite baths are reason enough to stay in this home. In addition, one bedroom is part of a "family suite" and has an adjoining 6th bedroom with two bunk beds. All are outfitted with quality mattresses, pillows and linens. Each of the five bedrooms also has a TV.
The beautiful, well-stocked custom kitchen has granite countertops, gorgeous quarter-sawn oak cabinetry and generous storage...it invites you to play chef with an array of cookware, crock pots, waffle irons, a panini press and baking pans. Or, simply assume the role of gracious hosts and serve up the carry-out pizza and salad on a generous supply of dinnerware and serving pieces!
The dining area is dominated by a massive, owner-built reclaimed-wood table that seats 10-14. The old growth redwood that once was part of a South Dakota horse barn now welcomes your family and friends to sit around for a great meal and even better conversation time.
The focal point of the great room adjoining the dining area is a soaring, two-story fireplace faced with reclaimed barn-board for a weathered, rustic, yet contemporary look. The expansive wall of windows look out toward Pillar Peak and includes vistas of distant hills covered with aspen and pine. The Black Elk Wildlife Refuge is part of the view and we've been told that at certain times of the year one can hear, and occasionally see, the elk moving from summer hills to winter grazing and back again! A 60 inch large screen TV is also provided.
The lower level family room has a pool table for friendly competition (!), a supply of games and books and a bar area with a fridge, microwave, second dishwasher and bar stools for extra seating. An under-the-stairs nook is outfitted with comfy pillows for the small ones to play in. And there is a 70-inch TV to catch favorite ball games or late night movie...popcorn, anyone?
Being in the Hills is also about being outdoors and Bella Luna offers multiple opportunities to soak in the surrounding beauty...literally! A seven-person hot tub is located just outside the family room...no better place to ease away sore muscles from hiking, 4 wheeling or skiing! Broad decks line both the front and back of the home...sip your morning coffee in a rocking chair on the covered front porch and enjoy meals around the several tables (including a cute kid's picnic table!) on the partially-covered back porch. Two grills facilitate the BBQ masters in the group!
Bella Luna was designed with details in mind. There are many examples of the owner's handiwork, from reclaimed wood vanities, tables and headboards to hand-crafted pottery sinks and serving pieces, also owner made. Original artwork is scattered around...the intent is to present a home that is both comfortable and unique, memorable as well as functional.
Welcome to Bella Luna, Beautiful Moon...enjoy your time in our home! Take home memories, take home photos...and then come back and visit again, real soon!

Bella Luna was my choice for my 80th Birthday celebration with all my children and cousins, it was the most beautiful, perfect We loved and used all of the all deck for the viewing. Spent most of our time there. Everything we used was ultra quality.

We celebrated a cousins weekend in the Hills last October as it was a central meeting place for all 9 of us. Bella Luna was the perfect home to gather, eat, reminisce and create new memories! Everyone had their own king sized bed and the more than spacious dining table allowed for good old-fashioned games, drinks and eats. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need for the long weekend. Then, when we wanted to get out and explore, the cab company recommended by the owners shuttled us to downtown Deadwood for an evening of gambling and other shenanigans. We’re thinking of returning next year for another great weekend of hot tubbing, laughing and hanging out! Thanks for the beautiful home and ultimate Deadwood experience.
