The James Van Gallery is named after local painter and sculptor James Van Nuys who has sculptured everyone from Franklin Pierce to Barack Obama. He has spent years creating sculptures of the prairies of South Dakota and images of areas throughout Badlands and the Black Hills.

The works of over 80 local artists are on display at the Dahl Arts Center.
